Davao schools see action in UniGames

Holy Cross will compete in men's and women's vollyball, chess, table tennis and athletics while Ateneo de Davao will take part in men's volleyball, badminton and basketball along with the University of Mindanao.

UM sports coordinator Joqauin Sarabia, though, has yet to finalize its other events in the annual multi-sports extravaganza.

Abraham Verdeprado, HCDC sports coordinator said they are geared up for the weeklong event, which will be hosted anew by University of St. La Salle, “the Home of the Unigames”.

“Our athletes are almost done in their training camp as part of the preparation for the Unigames, “said Verdeprado.

AdDU sports chief Pochollo Elegino said his athletes are ready to compete with the big schools, most especially from the National Capital Region.

" We will try our best to win against the heavy-weight schools there, " said Elegino whose cagers pulled out a shocking victory over the much-taller and famous University of Ilo-ilo Wildcats last year.

More than 30 teams, including those from the UAAP and NCAA, have already confirmed their participation in this year’s Unigames, according to Internet report.
