The one-day golf for a cause, held in honor of the late sportsman and businessman Don Francisco S. Dizon, is for the benefit of Maharlika Charity Foundation, Missionary Sisters of Charity, Bahay Pasilungan?and Davao Medical Center (DMC).
Jose "Joe" Marfori, son-in-law of Don FS Dizon, said the golfest aims to raise P1 million that would be given to the four beneficiaries – the "favorite charity institutions of my?father-in-law", according to Marfori, who is set to carry the country's flag in the Hong Kong Seniors Open on December 6 to 8.
"This tournament is initiated by the family to continue the legacy of the late Don Francisco Dizon, " He added.
Some 200 golfers are expected to join the tournament which offers a whopping P1 million as a hole-in-one purse.
The tournament, which follows the system 36 format, is catering to Class A, B, C and D divisions.
Trophies will be awarded to the winners. The awarding rites will be held at the Rancho Palos Verdes Golf and Country Club clubhouse. (Rico?Biliran / MindaNews)
