3 USAID workers injured in grenade blast

The North Cotabato police has yet to determine the motive of the blast.

Wounded were Engr. Mario C. Tabaosares, 26; Engr. Alfredo D. Cabardo, 53; and Damrod M. Dalandangan, 28; all employees of GEM’s sub-office in Pikit.

Sr. Supt. Federico Dulay, provincial police director, has ordered the manhunt against two motorcycle-riding men believed to have lobbed the grenade.

Tonight’s blast was the third incident in Southwestern Mindanao (Region 12) this month.

On April 19, one was killed and two others were wounded when an improvised explosive device went off along Yap Sy St. in Cotabato City. Police  believed the slain victim was the one that carried the IED that exploded while still in his hands.

Four days later, a grenade was lobbed by two motorcycle-riding men in Barangay Lagundingan, Midsayap, North Cotabato. One was hurt during the explosion.
