MALAYBALAY CITY (MindaNews/05 January) – Seventy percent or P349.1 million of Bukidnon’s P498.6-million annual investment plan for 2011 will go to health services.
The Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Bukidnon approved the investment plan on December 8, according to the minutes of the legislative body.
Bukidnon’s eight hospitals will receive the allocation for health services, with the Bukidnon Provincial Medical Center getting the biggest amount at P127.05 million.
The proposed P1.36-billion budget for 2011 was approved, although the amounts for some items were reduced. MindaNews is yet to obtain the figures for items that were slashed. The budget includes a P14.805-million local disaster risk reduction and management fund, a mandatory allocation.
The Provincial Indigency Health Project was allocated P17.8 million.
The Provincial Economic Enterprise Development and Management Office got a budget of P8.7 million and the Provincial Housing and Resettlement Office P5.87 million.
Non-office programs, activities, and projects account for P102.27 million or a fifth of the total economic enterprise investment budget.
Non-office investment fund includes P82 million for “medical, dental, and laboratory expenses” and another P7 million for hospital equipment.
The provincial board also approved a special education fund of P37 million, including P24.37 million for construction, rehabilitation, repair, completion of school buildings and other structures. (Walter I. Balane/MindaNews)
