ZAMBOANGA CITY (Mindanews/01 June) – The Supreme Court’s “Justice on Wheels” is scheduled to roll into this city Thursday, June 2, in a bid to expedite the resolution of cases in this part of the country.
Regional Trial Court Executive Judge Reynerio Estacio said that Supreme Court officials led by Court Administrator Jose Midas Marquez are arriving for the launching of the “Justice on Wheels” and the Increasing Access to Justice by the Poor Program.
The launching will be held starting 8 a.m. at the Hall of Justice in Sta. Barbara, this city, Estacio said.
It will be followed by court hearings and mobile court-annexed mediation also to be held at the Hall of Justice, he said.
It will be participated in by RTC Branches 12 to 17 and Municipal Circuit Trial Court (MCTC) Branches 1 to 4 of Zamboanga City, Estacio said.
RTC Branches 13 and 24 of Zamboanga Sibugay provinces and the MCTCs of Ipil, Naga, Imelda, Alicia, Buug, Olutanga and Malangas will also attend, he said.
He said that an information drive and jail visitation will be held and will be followed by a meeting of Supreme Court Justices and officials.
Estacio said court personnel will hold team building activities in the afternoon.
Thursday’s Justice on Wheels is the second to be held in this city.
The first was held on December 20, 2004 during the stint of Chief Justice Hilario Davide. (MindaNews)
