Atty. Aminola Abataon, LTO director for Western Mindanao, attributed the revenue increase to the increase in number of motor vehicles registered in his office.
Abaton’s office covers the provinces of Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga Sibugay, Basilan, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi and Zamboanga City.
Abaton said the number of motor vehicles registered in 2011 were higher by 55,007 compared to that registered in the previous year, from 321,446 in 2010 to 376,453 in 2011.
Aside from this, the number of driver’s licenses issued by his office also increased by 4,094, from 166,059 issued in 2010 to 170,153 in 2011.
The issuance of driver’s licenses is also a source of revenue. (MindaNews)
