KIDAPAWAN CITY (MindaNews/09 June) — Authorities recovered on Friday in a remote village in Carmen, North Cotabato the decomposing body of a 36-year old taxi driver from Cagayan de Oro City who went missing on June 1 after he was hired by unidentified passengers there.
Chief Inspector Jordine Maribojo, chief of the Carmen municipal police station, identified the victim as Richard Chee, driver of a white Toyota taxi owned by Francisco Berbesada, also of Cagayan de Oro City.
Chee was recognized by his wife, Maylene Grace, 29, through his dress and some markings on his body, Maribojo said.
The driver’s body was discovered in an abandoned lot in Barangay Kimadsil, a remote village in the Ligawasan Marsh in Carmen.
He suffered gunshot and stab wounds in different parts of his body.
Chee’s taxi, a white Toyota sedan with plate number KVZ 138, was recovered along the boundary of Barangays Bolol and Kabasalan in Pikit town, also in North Cotabato, a day after it was reported stolen.
