ZAMBOANGA CITY (MindaNews/08 June) – The police have released on Friday the computer-generated artist’s sketch of one of the six gunmen behind the abduction of the two Chinese iron ore traders in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay.
Police Regional Office-9 (PRO-9) director Chief Supt. Napoleon Estilles disclosed that the sketch was derived from the description given them by witnesses who saw the gunmen seize the two Chinese nationals.
The victims – identified as Yuankai Lin, 38, and Jian Luo, 43 – were seized by six gunmen around 10 p.m. Monday from their rented home in Barangay F.L. Peña, Kabasalan municipality, Zamboanga Sibugay province.
Estilles said the suspect is around 25 to 28 years old, medium build, 5’3” and with brown complexion.
However, Estilles disclosed that they remain clueless as to who are responsible in the abduction of the two Chinese traders.
No one has yet claimed responsibility over the abduction and none has demanded ransom yet, Estilles said.
He disclosed that their attempt to get the identity of the owner of the suspects’ getaway vehicle, a white Toyota Hi-Ace van with plate number WTE-606, has failed.
The vehicle, which the suspects burned, was recovered at the shore of Sitio Olingan, Barangay Salipyasin, Kabasalan town.
The vehicle was registered in the name of Ajijol Hawa Alih, a resident of Mayor Jaldon Street, Dipolog City, when police checked with the Land Transportation Office (LTO).
The person’s name and home address turned out to be non-existent when the police verified information at the Commission on Elections (Comelec), according to Estilles.
He said that the victims have been the Kabasalan for the past four years. They were provided police security for the first three years of their stay there but later stopped availing the services of the escorts, he added. (MindaNews)
