ZAMBOANGA CITY (MindaNews/02 October) – A 5.2-magnitude earthquake was felt on Tuesday in several areas of Mindanao and in Dumaguete City.
Engr. Allan Labayog, Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) regional officer-in-charge said that the earthquake, which registered at 2:25 p.m. Tuesday, was tectonic in origin.
Labayog said the earthquake’s epicenter was 19 kilometers southwest of Sergio Osmeña municipality in Zamboanga del Norte and had a depth of 20 kilometers.
He said Intensity 3 was felt in Zamboanga City, Pagadian City as well as in Dumaguete City in Central Visayas.
Intensity 2 was felt in Dipolog City and Labason, Zamboanga del Norte, he said.
There was no reported damage to property during the earthquake, he added. (MindaNews)
