MIDSAYAP, North Cotabato (MindaNews/07 August) – The municipal board here passed a resolution imposing a curfew, hours after an improvised bomb exploded in front of a business establishment here at dawn. No one was injured in the blast.
The Sangguniang Bayan chaired by Vice Mayor Luis Albert Garduque on Wednesday afternoon passed Resolution 2013-053 directing the Midsayap Police Station, the Office of the Municipal Social Services Division and all barangay councils to impose, effective immediately, curfew hours from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for minors and from 12 midnight to 5 a.m. for business establishments here.
The resolution said the curfew is an immediate remedial measure to protect life and property of its constituents.
It cited the bombing that killed eight and wounded 30 others in Cotabato City last Monday and the explosion at dawn here as the reasons for imposing a curfew.
No one was hurt in the blast but it caused fear and panic among residents. (Karl Ballentes / MindaNews contributor)
