ZAMBOANGA CITY (MindaNews/ 22 Sept) – Classes in public and private schools outside the areas of concern here will resume on Wednesday, September 25 but school officials are to report on September 23 and 24 for meetings in preparation for class resumption, an advisory of the City Information Office said.
Classes have been suspended here since September 9, the start of the standoff between government and the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) under founding chair Nur Misuari.
The advisory said the Department of Education’s division office will issue specific guidelines on the resumption of classes.
“Barangay tanods and other force multipliers are urged to take active role in securing the community, particularly schools,” it said.
In City Hall, only offices providing frontline services are required to report to work on Monday.
For other governemtn and non-governemtn offices, private establishments and companies outside the critical zone, the decision to will be left to the discretion of the heads of offices. (MindaNews)
