LPA seen in Mindanao; rains expected across the country

MALAYBALAY CITY (MindaNews/10 September) — A Low Pressure Area (LPA) was spotted 1,210 km east of Mindanao embedded along the Intertropical Convergence Zone at 4:00 am. today, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said in its 5 a.m. weather bulletin.

Pagasa said the LPA will bring rains across Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.

Palawan, Visayas and Mindanao will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms, the state weather bureau said.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms, it added.

Moderate to occasionally strong winds blowing from the east will prevail over extreme Northern Luzon and its coastal waters will be moderate to occasionally rough, Pagasa said.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the southwest to southeast with slight to moderate seas. (MindaNews)
