DAVAO CITY (MindaNews / 03 November) – Mindanao, Central and Eastern Visayas will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms due to a low pressure area (LPA) spotted 430 kilometers east of Mindanao as of 4 p.m. Sunday, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said in its 5 p.m. advisory.
The LPA was embedded along the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) affecting Mindanao.
PAGASA said Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms, that moderate to strong winds blowing from the east will prevail over Luzon and its coastal waters will be moderate to rought.
“Winds will be light to moderate coming from the east to northeast will prevail over Visayas and blowing from the northeast to north over Mindanao with slight to moderate seas,” it said.
Eastern Mindanao Caraga and Davao regions were the hardest hit when super typhoon Pablo struck on December 4 last year. Caraga comprises the two Agusans and two Surigaos and the cities therein while Davao region or Southeastern Mindanao is composed of Davao del Norte, Davao del Sur, Davao Oriental and the cities of Tagum, Samal, Digos, Mati and Davao.
