Agaton moves slowly

DAVAO CITY (MindaNews/20 January) – Tropical depression Agaton continues to move slowly, its center estimated at 180 kms southeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur or 175 km east of Davao City as of 10 p.m. Sunday.

Public Storm Warning Signal 1 remains hoisted over Davao Oriental, Compostela Valley, Davao del Norte, Davao del Sur, Agusan del Sur and Surigao del Sur, and the cities of Davao, Tagum, Panabo, Samal, Digos and Mati.

Agaton’s strength remains at maximum winds of 55 kph near the center and is forecast to move west southwest at 5 kph,  Weather  Bulletin 11 of the Philippine Atmopsheric, Geophysical, Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) issued at 11 p.m. Sunday, said.

Agaton is expected at 100 km Southeast of Davao City or at 160 km East Northeast of General Santos City by Monday  evening and at 30 km Northeast of General Santos City by Tuesday evening. By Wednesday evening, it is expected to be at 160 km West Southwest of General Santos City. (MindaNews)
