LPA moves to Samar; rains still expected over Mindanao

MALAYBALAY CITY (MindaNews/15 January) – The low pressure area that has brought torrential rains which triggered floods in Mindanao since last week has moved to Eastern Visayas, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said in its advisory today.

Pagasa said that as of 4am today, the LPA was estimated based on all available data at 100 km east of Borongan, Eastern Samar.

The state weather bureau, however, said Northern Mindanao and the Caraga Region will continue to experience moderate to heavy rains which may trigger floods and landslides,

It added the rest of Mindanao will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms. (MindaNews)
