KORONADAL CITY (MindaNews/09 May)—A Magnitude 5.7 earthquake of tectonic origin rocked parts of Mindanao on Friday afternoon.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the quake’s epicenter was located 31 kilometers southeast of Sarangani town, which is part of Davao del Sur.
The earthquake, which occurred at around 1:44 p.m., has a depth of 113 kilometers and aftershocks are expected, the agency said.
Phivolcs said that Intensity 4 was felt in Davao City and Mati City in Davao Oriental; Intensity 3 in Bislig, Surigao del Sur and Tagum City; and Intensity 1 in Gingoog, Misamis Oriental.
