The net worth declarations are expected to generate reactions from constituents as some of their declarations do not seem to match their lifestyles.
Questions had earlier been raised over allegations that several government officials, including representatives, have been under-declaring their net worth during the annual filing of the SALNs.
The Mindanao-wide ranking was made by MindaNews from the “Summary Report of Filed Statements of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth (SALNs) for CY 2013 of Members of the House of Representatives, 16th Congress” posted on the website of the House. MindaNews also came up with a nationwide ranking for comparison.
MindaNews Table 1 shows the categories of the summary report – acquisition cost of real properties, personal properties, total assets, liabilities and net worth. In addition, MindaNews included a column on the extreme left for the ranking among Mindanao colleagues and on the extreme right, a column on the ranking nationwide.
MindaNews Table 2 shows only the names, rankings and provinces or districts represented.
The Mindanao ranking is from 1st to 67th instead of 68th because a husband and wife team – Abdullah and Imelda Dimaporo of the two distr icts of Lanao del Norte – filed a joint SALN. Davao City Rep. Mylene Garcia-Albano also filed a joint SALN with husband, Isabela 1st district Rep. Rodolfo Albano. (Carolyn O. Arguillas / MindaNews)
