ZAMBOANGA CITY (MindaNews/15 November) – A senior high school teenager perished in an almost two hour fire early Saturday in this city, a Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) official said.

Supt. Dominador Zabala, Jr., fire marshal of BFP’s Zamboanga Central Fire Station, identified the fatality as Keneth Pagoragan, 15, fourth year high school student of Pilar College.

Zabala said the fire broke out around 12:45 a.m. Saturday and partially destroyed the two-storey semi-concrete residential house of Louie Pagoragan in Manicahan.

He said Keneth was pinned down by a burning wood when he returned to get the gadgets that were left in his bedroom.

He estimated the damage to property at P100,000. Firefighters declared “fire out” at 2:30 a.m. Saturday.

The fire occurred four hours after a two-storey semi-concrete house of Lito Perez in Barangay Tugbungan, this city, was razed to the ground.

Zabala said the case investigator was yet to determine the origin of the fire that broke out 8:05 p.m. Friday.
