DAVAO CITY (MindaNews/ 13 Jan) – Two Manila-based Mindanawon reporters are among 14 Filipino journalists in the entourage of Pope Francis from the Vatican to Sri Lanka, the Philippines and back to the Vatican.
The two reporters are Lynda Jumilla of ABS-CBN News Channel (ANC) and Jose Adrias Torres, Manila Bureau Chief of UCANews (Union of Catholic Asian News).
Jumilla, who anchors “Beyond Politics,” is from Davao City and Davao del Sur while Torres is from Dapitan. Jumilla finished high school at the University of the Immaculate Conception in Davao City.
Both are recipients of various awards including the Marshall McLuhan Fellowship for Jumilla in 2012 and the Aquino Fellowship for Journalism for Torres in 2005.
The 14 Filipino journalists in the entourage are Kara David and Melchor Quintos, GMA Network; Nino Manalo and Pia Hontiveros-Pagkalinawan, 9TV; Jumilla and Ariel Fulgado, ABS-CBN; Cicero Roy Lagarde, CBCP News; Joselito Zulueta, Philippine Daily Inquirer; Marco Paolo Bombase and Wilfred Delgado Herrera, Philippines Pool TV; Gregory Ramon Gaston, Radyo Veritas; Arvin Rillera, and Jhemmylrut Teng, TV5; and Torres of UCANews.
