MALAYBALAY CITY (MindaNews/03 July) – A 6.1-magnitude earthquake hit Surigao del Norte, other parts of Mindanao and Eastern Visayas at 2:43 p.m. Friday, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
Phivolcs said the tremor was tectonic in origin and its epicenter was located 41 kilometers northeast of Burgos town and had a depth of 30 kilometers.
The United States Geological Survey measured the quake at 6.0-magnitude.

The tremor was felt mildly in Malaybalay City.
Phivolcs said they are not expecting any major damage but aftershocks might occur. (MindaNews)
