COTABATO CITY (MindaNews / 16 July) – Cotabatenios and the Bangsamoro people have something to be excited next week as the Philippines’ pride, El Gamma Penumbra, the Asia’s Got Talent grand winner, will perform in Cotabato City.
An Edl Fit’r thanksgiving and prelude celebration to the second anniversary of ARMM-Humanitarian Emergency Action Response Team (HEART), the shadow play group will mount two separate performances on Monday, July 20.
El Gamma Penumbra was adjudged as the grand winner of the first Asia’s Got Talent held last May 7 in Marina Sands Hotel in Singapore.
At 3 p.m. on Monday, the group will perform inside the Shariff Kabunsuan Complex for the invited guests holding free tickets, to be followed by an open public viewing at the front of Bangsamoro Complex Building open air quadrangle at 7 p.m.
ARMM-HEART focal person lawyer Kirby Matalam said the unique performance will surely capture the heart of the viewers on the long desired peace and environmental protection efforts of the constituents.
“It will be best for the children and the next generation to understand better through this artistic shadow and musical play the dreams we foster for this region,” Matalam said.
The play, expected to be an hour long, will have four different themes – peace, environmental protection, disaster preparedness and a freestyle performance by the group, according to ARMM-HEART.
A hero’s welcome is expected on Monday morning as one of the members of the 18-man group, 26-year-old Whalid Minanga Bucana, happens to be a resident of Bagua in this city.
Bucana has expressed he is excited to perform in his native land during his comeback after he left Cotabato for Batangas, where he met the dance group, nine years ago.
