Duterte takes solo lead in Pulse Asia poll

MALAYBALAY CITY (MindaNews/12 April) — Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte has overtaken Senator Grace Poe in the latest survey conducted by Pulse Asia and commissioned by ABS-CBN.

The survey results, which were released Tuesday, showed that Duterte gained 30 percent voter preference rating from 4,000 respondents while Poe only had 25 percent. The outcome means a six-point gain for Duterte and a three-point loss for Poe.

Vice President Jejomar Binay’s rating also dropped by three points from the previous survey. He got 20 percent to place third, just a point ahead of fourth placer administration bet Mar Roxas.

Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago remained at the cellar with 2 percent of the voter preference.

Pulse Asia did the survey from March 29 to April 3 using face-to-face interviews. It had a margin of error of ±1.5 percentage points.

Duterte dominated Mindanao with 55 percent, while Poe led in Luzon with 31 percent. They had a neck-and-neck contest in the National Capital Region with 32 percent and 30 percent, respectively.

Visayas favored Roxas, who got 34 percent of the voter preference in the region. (MindaNews)
