Duterte a no-show in barangay election

DAVAO CITY (MindaNews / 14 May) – President Rodrigo R. Duterte did not cast his vote for the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections on Monday.

Duterte’s voting precinct is at the Daniel R. Aguinaldo National High School in Barangay 74-A, Matina Crossing, Davao City.

His supporters waited at the school, but the President did not show up until the Board of Election Inspectors closed the voting at 3 p.m.

His daughter and City Mayor Sara Duterte cast her vote at 10:10 a.m. in the same school.

According to Commission on Elections 11, about 2.8 million registered voters were expected to vote at the 3,822 clustered precincts in the region.

It said there were 2,573 candidates for barangay captains, 21,252 candidates for barangay council, 2,982 candidates for SK chair, and 21,252 candidates for SK council. (Antonio L. Colina IV/MindaNews)
