KIDAPAWAN CITY (MindaNews / 4 June) – Authorities launched on Monday a manhunt against a farmer in Makilala, North Cotabato who escaped after stabbing his own father on Sunday, a police official said.
Chief Inspector Johnny Rick Felongco Medel, chief of Makilala police, identified the victim as Sozimo Susae, of Purok Centro, Barangay Malasila.
Susae died after his son, Dante, reportedly stabbed him several times, Medel said.
Father and son had a heated argument outside a neighbor’s house in Purok Centro after which the latter left but warned he would return.
The elder Susae reportedly went home to take his dinner but met his son who stabbed him several times in the belly and back, the police official said.
The father allegedly told his son to stop, to no avail.
Bystanders brought the victim to the nearest hospital but was pronounced dead by the attending physician.
Medel said the suspect escaped and is said to be hiding in Kidapawan City. He will be charged with parricide. (Malu Cadelina Manar/MindaNews)
