DAVAO CITY (MindaNews / 25 June) – Tech and non-tech professionals will get a chance to learn from experts, unleash their skills and share their knowledge about technology through “Geeks Unplugged,” a one-day interactive conference on July 14.
The conference, organized by a group of technology enthusiasts, aims to help the communities of both tech and non-tech workforce and entrepreneurs in the city.
Karen Bangoy, community manager of Women Powered Institute who is co-organizer of the event, said on Monday that “Geeks Unplugged” is an intense networking event with no-nonsense discussions, demos and interactions among participants on the latest trends in technology, innovation and business opportunities.
“Another thing you can benefit from this is that you get to expand your network, you get to connect with people of the same interest for continuous collaborations. It’s also a perfect venue for network with entrepreneurs and freelancers,” she said.
Organizers hope to gather around 60 to 80 participants in the first-ever Geeks Unplugged event, positioned as Davao’s biggest meet-up for both tech and non-tech workforce and entrepreneurs, at the Costa Marina Beach Resort in Island Garden City of Samal.
The topics will include mobile and web, digital entrepreneurship, design and usability, future technology, and blockchain technology.
“You can share your knowledge and inspire everyone with your ideas about your favorite tech niche topics,” Bangoy added.
Organizers hope to get the participation of geeks or anyone who is passionate about technology, entrepreneurs or anyone who wants to meet and build relationships with high-quality people, freelancers or those doing home-office-desk-night-job and itching to widen their network, and digital nomads and weekend warriors.
