Fire kills 3 family members in Davao

DAVAO CITY (MindaNews/23 July) – Three family members died and another one was injured in a fire that engulfed a house at the National Housing Authority subdivision in Buhangin District here at 4:28 am on Monday, City Fire Marshal Major Virna Silagan said.

Silagan said Christopher Pascual and his wife, Rose, and their 12-year old daughter Camille were killed in the incident while daughter Pamela, 17, survived and only suffered second degree burns.

Authorities believed an LPG leak caused the fire when Pamela was about to use the gas range to cook breakfast.

A separate report released by the city police office said neighbors rescued Pamela and brought her to the Southern Philippines Medical Center.

Firefighters put out the fire at 8:50 am.

Silagan said the estimated cost of damage was P1.2 million. (Antonio L. Colina IV/MindaNews)
