DAVAO CITY (MindaNews / 01 Sept) — Another Chinese research vessel docked at the Sasa Wharf here on Friday, the second since the berthing of a research/survey vessel Yuan Wang 3 in July this year.
Major Ezra Balagtey, public information officer of the Eastern Mindanao Command, said on Saturday that the Yuan Wang 7, made a port of call here for replenishment and is expected to leave on Sunday.
“Her stay in the Philippines is subject to the conditions stated through the diplomatic note issued by the Department of Foreign Affairs,” he said.
According website tracking site www.vesselfinder.com, the Yuan Wang 7 is a research vessel built in 2016.
A Chinese military aircraft Ilyushing Il-76 bound for New Zealand landed at the Davao International Airport on June 8 for refueling and landed again on June 23 for similar purpose before returning to China. (Antonio L. Colina IV / MindaNews)
