COTABATO CITY (February 5) – Two out-of-school minors playing online games inside an internet cafe — one aged 14, the other 17 — were gunned down at around 7 p.m. Tuesday by a still unidentified man whose accomplice waited outside on a motorcycle.
Superintendent Joefel Sioson, chief of police of Tacurong City in Sultan Kudarat province said a still unidentified gunman shot the two in an internet shop in Barangay San Pablo, along the national highway, while his companion waited outside on a motorcycle.
“Our investigation is still in progress, we cannot give yet the motive of the killing,” Siason told Mindanews.
The local police are looking for a CCTV footage that can give more clues to the identity of the suspects.
Caliber 45 slugs were gathered in the area according to the city police chief.
“Only few online gamers were there. We are still convincing other players to stand as witness,” Siason added.
The victims were identified as certain Dading, 14, and certain Kokey, 17. Both are residents of Barangay San Pablo in Tacurong City.
With martial law in place since May 23, 2017, Tacurong City is implementing a 10 p.m. curfew for minors and 11 p.m. for adults. (Ferdinandh B. Cabrera / MindaNews)
