Cotabato registers zero crime rate during Pacquiao-Thurman fight

KIDAPAWAN CITY (MindaNews / 22 July) – The Cotabato Provincial Police Office (CPPO) recorded a zero crime rate on Sunday, the time boxing legend Manny Pacquiao fought with Keith Thurman in Las Vegas.

Based on CPPO’s monitoring in different police stations in North Cotabato, no crime has ever been committed on July 21.

The CPPO said this has always been the scenario once there is a Pacquiao fight.

Likewise, no traffic incident was reported on Sunday in Kidapawan City.

The traffic division of the Kidapawan City PNP said only few vehicles traversed the national highway and streets here, especially when the Pacquiao-Thurman fight began.

This, investigators said, showed that almost all Filipinos, be they rich or poor, watched every Pacquiao fight.

Philip Sorroza, resident of Sandawa Homes, said in his Facebook account that Pacquiao at age 40 has never lost his glory. “Indeed, he is a living legend in the field of sports,” he stressed. (Malu Cadelina Manar / MindaNews)
